Premiering on the 22nd, ‘IdolI’ is a mystery legal romance. It follows Maeng Se-na, a star lawyer who is also an avid fan, as she takes on the case of her favorite idol, Do Ra-ik (played by Kim Jae-young), when he is accused of murder.
Choi Soo-young plays Maeng Se-na, a star lawyer known for defending ‘devils.’ While she skillfully wins criminal cases others avoid, she transforms into a fervent fan when it comes to her favorite band, ‘Gold Boys.’ Choi Soo-young masterfully captures this dramatic contrast, making her portrayal of Maeng Se-na captivating.
The first episode amplified excitement with an unexpected meeting between Se-na and Ra-ik. After failing to secure concert tickets, Se-na confronted a scalper on the day of the concert. As she chased him away, she accidentally ran into Ra-ik, who was on his way to the venue. Se-na’s joy from this surprise encounter was brief, as a sudden twist occurred: fellow band member Woo-seong (played by Ahn Woo-yeon) was found murdered, and Ra-ik became the prime suspect. The narrative then shifted to maximize engagement as the lawyer and murder suspect met again.
