The series ‘Concrete Market’ releases its first three episodes today.
The Wavve original series ‘Concrete Market’, set to be released at 11 AM KST on the 23rd, is a disaster drama that follows individuals striving to establish a new order within Hwanggung Market, the sole apartment complex remaining after a devastating earthquake. Episodes 1 through 3 portray humanity’s brutal return to barbarism post-disaster, vividly depicting the Hwanggung Market’s emerging worldview as survival-driven transactions commence and a new civilization begins to take shape.
Heero (played by Lee Jae-in), an ordinary high school student, enters Hwanggung Market to survive. The sudden death of her old friend Sejung (played by Choi Jung-woon), whom she reunites with there, shakes Heero’s goals and fortifies her determination to reach the ninth floor. Meanwhile, Taejin, who views Sangyong (played by Jung Man-sik) as a father figure, accepts Heero’s risky proposal, forming a precarious alliance. Their collaboration, built on mutual wariness, fractures Taejin’s once-solid trust, leading to unpredictable developments.
Starting from the first floor and aiming for the ninth-floor pinnacle of power, Heero quickly rises within Taejin’s organization, attracting the attention of Sangyong, the top power holder. Amidst this, Cheol-min, who seeks market dominance, closely watches Heero and Taejin’s evolving relationship, exploiting any power vacuums. As they ascend through the floors, their alliance and conflicts intensify, unsettling the market’s once-stable order and building intense suspense.
Having already captivated viewers with the release of episodes 1 through 3, ‘Concrete Market’ will exclusively release episodes 4 through 7 on Wavve on the 30th.
