The new tvN drama ‘Siren,’ set to premiere on March 2nd, is a gripping romantic thriller. It follows a captivating insurance fraud suspect and a man who investigates the mysterious deaths surrounding her.
As the director of hit dramas like ‘Flower of Evil’ and ‘Celebrity,’ Kim Cheol-kyu has garnered significant attention for his next project. He shared, “I always feel both scared and excited with each new drama. I hope this one, which I’ve prepared with great dedication, will be loved by many.”
With many anticipating another romantic thriller from him, viewers are keen to know why he chose ‘Siren.’ He noted, “From the opening of the first episode to the closing of the last, the drama features a continuous stream of tense events without a moment to breathe. The deep emotions of various characters are intricately portrayed throughout, aligning with my sensibilities as a director.”

Describing ‘Siren’ as “a very intense drama with a strong identity,” he added, “I did my best to create a work filled with original settings, unpredictable developments, and distinctive mise-en-scène.” The production reportedly generated buzz on set, with reactions such as “There’s never been a drama like this,” further heightening curiosity about ‘Siren.’
The drama also garners attention for the anticipated chemistry between Park Min-young (Han Seol-ah), Wi Ha-jun (Cha Woo-seok), and Kim Jung-hyun (Baek Jun-beom). Kim expressed his trust in the actors, saying, “Park Min-young will prove through this drama that she possesses deep emotions capable of conveying the hidden pain and sorrow behind Han Seol-ah’s glamorous yet cold exterior.”
He added, “Wi Ha-jun naturally embodies the vibrant, energetic Cha Woo-seok. I hope Cha Woo-seok’s journey towards truth and Han Seol-ah is portrayed well. Kim Jung-hyun, with explosive talent, delivers unforgettable scenes. Baek Jun-beom’s story will captivate everyone.”

Finally, Kim highlighted unpredictability, surprise, and balance as key features of ‘Siren.’ “Every episode is not only intriguing but leaves viewers wanting more. A solid plot framework guides the characters as their emotions inevitably collide and intertwine, promising satisfaction for both genre and romance enthusiasts.”
Created with Kim Cheol-kyu’s effort and passion, ‘Siren’ premieres on March 2nd at 8:50 PM on tvN.
