Actress Gong Hyo-jin mentioned Kevin Oh’s cute jealousy.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, Xportsnews met with actress Gong Hyo-jin at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul regarding the film ‘The Neighbors Upstairs’ (directed by Ha Jung-woo).
The film ‘The Neighbors Upstairs’ tells the unpredictable story that unfolds when an upstairs couple (Ha Jung-woo & Lee Ha-nui) and a downstairs couple (Gong Hyo-jin & Kim Dong-wook) have dinner together, prompted by constant noise disturbances.
Gong Hyo-jin takes on the role of Jeong-ah, who continues a mundane married life with Kim Dong-wook after a passionate phase has faded.
Currently enjoying a sweet newlywed period with Kevin Oh after his military discharge, Gong Hyo-jin remarked that “there’s really no honeymoon like this,” hinting at her blissful state.
When asked if marriage has affected her acting and project choices, Gong reflected, “There’s subtly something there. Though marriage doesn’t influence the projects I choose, I do find myself subtly mindful. I couldn’t invite my father to this one,” she confessed about the daring theme of ‘The Neighbors Upstairs.’
She candidly added, “Now that I have a new family, I do care about how they might perceive it.”
Gong spoke about her husband’s reactions to her romantic scenes. “Kevin isn’t an actor, so he seems to find it ‘weird.’ While he says he should get used to it, he tells me, ‘I won’t watch that part, it’s weird.’ I’m thankful that he still feels jealous—it’s cute,” she expressed affectionately.
Though she claimed her romantic roles don’t impact her decision-making, she confessed feeling stressed on filming days. “I might feel sorry. Isn’t it awkward to imagine? Even on shows like ‘Transit Love,’ there’s a strange, ambiguous emotion. If you’re not used to these relationships, it might haunt your dreams,” she said, considering her non-actor husband’s feelings.
‘The Neighbors Upstairs’ is set to open on the 3rd.
