Actress Ha Yerin from ‘Bridgerton 4’ addressed intimate scenes.
A press conference for Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 took place on the afternoon of the 4th at Community House Masil in Myeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul. Ha Yerin attended the event.
‘Bridgerton 4’ is a romance series that explores the boundaries of love, identity, and class. It follows the carefree Benedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson), who is indifferent to marriage, and Sophie Beck (played by Ha Yerin), a maid he encounters at a masquerade ball.
During the conference, Ha Yerin candidly shared her “significant burden and concern” regarding the intimate scenes in ‘Bridgerton.’
She explained, “Many people today seem to believe they have the right to criticize and judge women’s bodies as they wish. This caused me to feel fear and burden even before filming. Additionally, beauty standards in Korea are stricter and differ from those in the West.”
She added, “Growing up in Korea, my perspective on my body was shaped in a specific way.”
She further explained, “Fortunately, we worked with an intimacy coordinator. I believe it is a necessary role for filming sensitive scenes.”
She continued, “The coordinator did an excellent job, crafting intense scenes almost like choreography and ensuring that not only the actors but also the staff felt safe during filming. It’s important that everyone on set considers it a safe space and performs at their best.”
Meanwhile, ‘Bridgerton 4’ is available for streaming on Netflix.
