Actress Jeon Do-yeon praised Kim Go-eun’s development.
On the afternoon of the 12th, an interview with Jeon Do-yeon for the Netflix original series “The Price of Confession” was held at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
“The Price of Confession” is a mystery thriller that portrays the events between Yoon-soo (played by Jeon Do-yeon), a suspect accused of killing her husband, and the enigmatic figure Mo-eun (played by Kim Go-eun), known as a witch.
Previously, Kim Go-eun mentioned that Jeon Do-yeon “only speaks the truth” and expressed happiness when receiving compliments from her.
Regarding this, Jeon Do-yeon said, “It’s not about whether I can judge who did well or not. I’m not just her senior; I’m also a viewer. I think Kim Go-eun did well because Mo-eun is a character stripped of emotions in the story. Acting without emotion while maintaining the line is difficult,” she explained.
She continued, “An actor can be swayed by the counterpart’s rhythm or step out of character momentarily, but Kim Go-eun successfully maintained Mo-eun until the end. Knowing it’s not easy, I complimented her, not because her acting was good or bad, but because I know how challenging it is,” she revealed the reason for praising Kim Go-eun.
Reuniting with Kim Go-eun for the first time in 10 years since the film “Memories of the Sword” (Director Park Heung-sik), she said, “She has grown immensely and dazzlingly. As an active actress myself, it’s premature to say she’s grown well, but back then, she was young and had a big role as the protagonist among seniors in ‘Memories of the Sword.’ She struggled because of it but it wasn’t about lacking anything; she needed encouragement.”
