
Disney+’s ‘Made in Korea’ has released character stills of Jo Yeo-jeong, Seo Eun-soo, and Won Ji-an, each challenging the era in their own way.
‘Made in Korea’ is set in Korea during the 1970s, a time of turmoil and progress. It follows Baek Gi-tae (played by Hyun Bin), who aims to reach the pinnacle of wealth and power by turning the nation into a profit model, and prosecutor Jang Geon-young (played by Jung Woo-sung), who relentlessly pursues him with fierce determination.
Burning up 2025 with ‘Murderer Report’ and ‘Zombie Daughter’, the reverse mystery thriller ‘Hidden Face’, and captivating millions with ‘Parasite’. Jo Yeo-jeong, known for her versatility and charm, is once again transforming herself in ‘Made in Korea’. She portrays Bae Geum-ji, a madam of an upscale establishment frequented by powerful figures, who subtly holds the reins of national power.

The stills reveal Jo Yeo-jeong’s multi-faceted portrayal, capturing the irresistible charisma and unspoken depth of Bae Geum-ji. Jo said, “When a character seems intimidating, it often means its charm is significant, creating both the pressure and challenge to take it on. Bae Geum-ji was so alluring that it frightened me,” showing her deep affection for the character. Jo Yeo-jeong’s new face and Bae Geum-ji’s captivating allure are set to enthrall viewers.

From ‘The Witch 2: The Other One’ to dramas like ‘Detective Investigation Class 1958’, ‘Unlock My Boss’, ‘Missing: They Were There’, and ‘My Golden Life’, Seo Eun-soo has made a strong impact. She plays Oh Ye-jin, an investigator delving into a vast crime cartel alongside Jang Geon-young. The character’s unwavering determination showcases her captivating energy.
Seo Eun-soo stated, “I wanted to depict Oh Ye-jin’s escalating desire, as she becomes more ruthless and driven from her initial purity,” enhancing anticipation for her complex portrayal. Writer Park Eun-kyo remarked, “Oh Ye-jin is someone who strives for growth and refuses complacency. With Seo Eun-soo’s vibrant energy, I hope she receives much love,” stimulating curiosity about her lively character.

Established through ‘D.P.’, ‘Squid Game Season 2’, ‘Polaris’, and now ‘Waiting for Stability’, Won Ji-an has solidified her unique presence. In ‘Made in Korea’, she portrays Ikeda Yuji, a prominent figure in a Japanese underworld syndicate and an ambitious lobbyist partnering with Baek Gi-tae for succession.
In the stills, Won impresses with her fierce yet multi-layered expressions, increasing curiosity about her character’s story arc. Director Woo Min-ho praised her for standing firm among veteran actors, highlighting her flawless acting. Won Ji-an noted, “I focused on interpreting Ikeda Yuji’s desires in every scene,” raising expectations for her distinctive portrayal. Each woman’s desires and stories enrich the drama, captivating audiences with their unique charms.
Disney+’s original series ‘Made in Korea’, known for its intense narrative of clashing desire and madness, premieres with two episodes on December 24, followed by two more on December 31, and one each on January 7 and January 14, available exclusively on Disney+.
