Netflix’s series “Can This Love Be Translated?” has revealed overseas production stills. This unpredictable romantic comedy revolves around multilingual interpreter Joo Ho-jin, who is tasked with translating for global top star Cha Moo-hee.
The series enriches its narrative with diverse locations, capturing the distinct scenery and atmosphere of countries such as Korea, Japan, Canada, and Italy. Director Yoo Young-eun aimed to subtly reveal deepening emotions by carefully integrating each country’s unique colors and spaces into the characters’ narratives.

Go Yoon-jung expressed that the initial excitement of getting to know each other during the Japanese shoot was beautifully reflected in their performances, raising anticipation for Ho-jin and Moo-hee’s first encounter.
Director Yoo described Canada as a place where their emotions deepen, utilizing exotic and romantic locales such as sunsets, auroras, and lakesides to enhance the emotional journey.
Kim Seon-ho noted, “It was a phase where Ho-jin and Moo-hee grew closer, and even on set, my chemistry with Go Yoon-jung improved.” Go added that the enjoyable shoot enriched their performances, enhancing the characters’ chemistry. The vast Canadian landscape beautifully conveys their story.
Director Yoo aimed to create a romantic night for Ho-jin and Moo-hee in Italy, adding yellow lights and cozy snow to the European winter scenery for a warm and calm atmosphere. Kim shared a delightful behind-the-scenes anecdote, stating, “The atmosphere remained beautiful, thanks to Director Yoo and Go Yoon-jung.”
In Korea, Director Yoo intended to showcase everyday yet beautiful places, rather than grand and extravagant spaces. He highlighted the enjoyment of spotting symbolic Seoul locations throughout the series.
The meticulously captured emotions and narratives of each episode, along with the diverse locations, deepen the series’ depth and immersion, offering a visually enjoyable experience. “Can This Love Be Translated?” premieres on Netflix on the 16th.
