Amidst tax evasion allegations, actor Kim Seon-ho’s upcoming Disney+ project, ‘The Chilling Seduction,’ faces an uncertain release schedule.
Disney+ representatives stated on the 3rd that the specific release date for ‘The Chilling Seduction’ has not been finalized, adding that updates will be provided in the future.
‘The Chilling Seduction’ is set in Gyeongseong in 1935 and follows the story of painter Yoon Yi-ho, who is commissioned to paint the portrait of a captivating woman, Song Jeong-hwa, whose life is shrouded in mystery and rife with rumors. Directed by Han Jae-rim, known for the film ‘Emergency Declaration,’ the anticipated drama stars Kim Seon-ho and Suzy in lead roles.
While ‘The Chilling Seduction’ was included in this year’s Disney+ release lineup, its exact schedule remains pending. Speculation suggests Kim Seon-ho’s tax evasion allegations could impact the release timing.
Earlier reports claimed Kim Seon-ho established a corporate entity at his Seoul Yongsan-gu residence and paid substantial monthly salaries to his parents through the company’s bank account. These reports also suggested his parents used the corporate card for daily and leisure expenses.
In response, his agency, Fantagio, stated, “The company was established for theater production and related activities, not for intentional tax reductions or evasion.” They added that “no actual business activities have taken place for over a year, and the closure process is underway.” Despite these clarifications, the controversy continues to simmer.
Meanwhile, aside from ‘The Chilling Seduction,’ Kim Seon-ho is set to star with Park Gyu-young in the upcoming six-part drama ‘Unfriend,’ and will also appear in the new tvN drama ‘The Chairman Is Watching.’
