Lee Joo-bin Becomes a Mysterious High School Teacher in “Spring Fever”… What’s Her Relationship with Ahn Bo-hyun?

Lee Joo-bin, an actress known for her versatile charms, has expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming drama “Spring Fever.”

Set to premiere on January 5, tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Spring Fever” tells a hot, romantic story about Yoon Bom (played by Lee Joo-bin), a teacher with a cool demeanor, and Seon Jae-kyu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), a man with a fiery heart, and how their connection can melt even the coldest of hearts.

In the drama, Lee Joo-bin plays Yoon Bom, a mysterious high school teacher who intrigues the townspeople. Once a beloved and popular figure in Seoul, Yoon Bom becomes withdrawn after a shocking incident and transfers to a small-town school.

Lee Joo-bin is expected to be central to the story’s development. She said, “When I first read the script, I felt I could joyfully portray ‘Yoon Bom’ and was eager to join,” adding, “Since the filming location is a seaside town, I thought I could shoot happily, as if on a daily trip.”

About her character, Lee Joo-bin said, “Yoon Bom is a mysterious teacher who moved to the countryside after closing her heart. She appears calm on the surface but carries hidden wounds and loneliness. Because the character embodies both darkness and brightness, I focused on delicately adjusting the emotional tone.”

In this drama, Lee Joo-bin takes on the challenge of playing a teacher, saying, “I practiced board writing extensively to appear natural during the lesson scenes. I paid close attention to the flow of hand movements, gaze, and speech rhythm to make it all feel natural. I also worked on my tone and gestures to convincingly play a real teacher,” raising anticipation for her performance.

Lee Joo-bin chose “cat,” “transparency,” and “principled person” as keywords that best express her character. She shared, “At first, Bom is guarded, but once she opens up, she is warmer and more caring than anyone. Though she thinks she hides her emotions, they show clearly in her expressions and actions. This honesty is one of Bom’s endearing charms.” She added, “Despite her glamorous appearance, she is conservative and values principles, which fits well with her role as an ‘ethics teacher.'”

Furthermore, Lee Joo-bin praised her chemistry with the cast, saying, “There were surprisingly many action scenes, and Ahn Bo-hyun was skilled in action, which helped a lot. Thanks to him, we could smoothly complete the tense scenes.” She concluded by calling “Spring Fever” a work full of healing, laughter, and warmth, expressing, “Viewers will feel comforted, receive small consolations, and smile throughout the show. As we await the approaching spring, I hope many look forward to it.”
