Lee Ju-bin Becomes an Enigmatic High School Teacher in “Spring Fever” – What’s Her Connection to Ahn Bo-hyun?

Lee Ju-bin, an actress known for her multifaceted charm, shares her excitement about her new role in “Spring Fever.”

Scheduled to premiere on January 5, the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama “Spring Fever” is a warm pink romance story that promises to melt even the coldest hearts. It follows Yoon Bom (portrayed by Lee Ju-bin), a high school teacher, and Sun Jae-kyu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), a passionate man.

Lee Ju-bin takes on the role of Yoon Bom, a mysterious high school teacher who sparks the curiosity of the local townspeople. Once popular and beloved in Seoul for her natural talent, Yoon Bom shut herself off after a traumatic event and relocates to a small rural school.

With high expectations for her pivotal role in the drama, Lee Ju-bin said, “When I first read the script, I felt I could joyfully bring Yoon Bom to life, so I was eager to take part.” She added, “The filming location is in a seaside town, so every day felt like a vacation, making the filming experience enjoyable.”

Describing her character, Lee Ju-bin said, “Yoon Bom is a mysterious teacher who arrives at a rural school with a guarded heart. Calm on the outside but wounded and lonely inside.” She focused on subtly balancing the emotional tones, as her character embodies both darkness and brightness.

Challenging herself with this teacher role, Lee Ju-bin shared, “I practiced writing on the board extensively to look natural in classroom scenes. I paid close attention to hand movements, gaze, and speaking rhythm to make everything flow naturally, refining my speech and gestures to feel like a real teacher when interacting with students.” This transformation into a teacher raises expectations for her performance.

When asked for keywords best describing her character, Lee Ju-bin chose “cat,” “transparency,” and “principled.” She explained, “Bom initially has a strong sense of caution but is warm and kind once she opens up. Though she thinks she hides her emotions, they show on her face and in her actions. This honesty makes Bom endearing.” She continued, “Despite her glamorous appearance, she is conservative and values principles, which suits her role as an ethics teacher.”

Lee Ju-bin also mentioned, “The chemistry among the cast is excellent. Surprisingly, there are many action scenes, and I received great help from Ahn Bo-hyun, who is skilled in action sequences. Thanks to him, the intense scenes were completed smoothly.” She concluded by describing “Spring Fever” as a work filled with healing, laughter, and warmth, encouraging viewers to anticipate a comforting and uplifting experience: “Watching it will warm your heart, offering small comforts and smiles. Please look forward to it as we await the coming spring.”
