‘Cashero’ is set to be released on December 26.
The Netflix series ‘Cashero’ will open its doors to viewers worldwide on December 26. ‘Cashero’ follows the story of ‘Sang-woong’, an ordinary salaryman struggling with the costs of a wedding and a home, who gains the ability to become stronger with the money he holds. The series is a gripping tale of a cash-strapped hero caught between daily expenses and superpowers. It features Lee Junho, Kim Hye-jun, Kim Byung-chul, Kim Hyang-gi, Lee Chae-min, and Kang Han-na.
The teaser poster shows a curious image of Sang-woong (played by Lee Junho) holding disappearing cash with a troubled expression on his face. The copy, “What should I do? They want me to do good deeds while spending my money,” vividly highlights Sang-woong’s dilemma as he transforms from a public servant saving penny by penny for his wedding into the superpowered Cashero, who loses cash every time he uses his strength. As this cash-driven, life-like hero story unfolds, viewers are left curious about the choices Sang-woong will make, with the tagline “Cash Hero” hinting at the innovative hero concept ‘Cashero’ will present.

The released teaser trailer begins with Sang-woong showing his fiancée Min-sook (played by Kim Hye-jun) his unique superpower where holding money grants him strength, but using it causes the money to disappear. The situation, where his powers are downplayed as akin to Korean paste and flies rather than grand powers, brings a comical yet tragic tone as Sang-woong despondently observes his empty wallet. At the same time, his heroic side is showcased as he effortlessly catches flying bullets with one hand and fearlessly faces dangerous foes, sparking curiosity about his supernatural abilities.
Despite Min-sook’s warnings against using his powers, circumstances force Sang-woong to continuously use them. The appearance of another superpowered defender (Kim Byung-chul), Bang Eun-mi (Kim Hyang-gi), and the entities targeting superpowered individuals like Jonathan (Lee Chae-min) and Joanna (Kang Han-na) heighten anticipation for the unfolding story. Sang-woong’s relatable statement, “The paycheck just passes through my bank account and there are endless expenses today,” alongside his careful movements to save money without using his powers, tickles the audience and raises expectations for ‘Cashero’, a down-to-earth penny-pinching hero unlike any seen before.
Meanwhile, ‘Cashero’ will be available on Netflix from December 26.
