Actor Ryu Kyung-soo has been confirmed for the lead role in Netflix’s ‘Dealer.’

The Netflix series ‘Dealer’ is a crime drama that follows casino dealer ‘Geon-hwa’ as he enters the perilous world of gambling, using his hidden abilities to save his threatened marriage plans.

The series marks the directorial debut of Choi Young-hwan, known for visually engaging works like ‘Tazza’ and ‘The Thieves.’ Anticipation for the series is heightened by the involvement of Hwang Dong-hyuk, the director behind the globally beloved ‘Squid Game,’ who is participating in its planning and production.

In the series, Ryu Kyung-soo will showcase a new side as Choi Woo-seung, Geon-hwa’s boyfriend and a detective in the violent crimes unit. Choi Woo-seung is described as endlessly gentle with Geon-hwa but relentlessly pursues his cases, sparking curiosity.

Ryu Kyung-soo has previously demonstrated his versatility across dramas such as ‘Unknown Seoul’ and ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938,’ Netflix series ‘The Bequeathed’ and ‘Glitch,’ films like ‘It Must Be a Secret,’ ‘Yadang,’ ‘Noise,’ and Netflix movie ‘JUNG_E,’ even extending to the stage with ‘The Effect.’

He has proven his wide-ranging spectrum by captivating audiences with everything from villainous roles wielding immense power to deeply touching romances and chilling horror scenes, solidifying his presence.
