The film ‘The Running Man’ has received praise from Stephen King, the author of the original novel.
Directed by Edgar Wright, ‘The Running Man’ is a blockbuster chase action film where Ben Richards, played by Glen Powell, participates in a global survival program. He must survive for 30 days against ruthless pursuers to win a huge prize.
Attention is drawn to Stephen King’s special points of praise for ‘The Running Man’. After watching the movie, he described it as “fantastic, like a modern ‘Die Hard’, an exhilarating thriller!” This raised expectations for the film. In a conversation with director Edgar Wright, King expressed his satisfaction, stating, “I am very satisfied with the film. Everything fell into place naturally,” adding that it “has a sparkle reminiscent of ‘Die Hard’.”
King also highlighted the accurate portrayal of themes such as the misuse of deepfake technology and the everyday exposure to cameras, ideas which were initially imagined in his novel published over 40 years ago. He pointed out the scene where someone says, “You’re on FreeV right now,” with drones capturing everything, noting, “Such things already happen in real life.”
Combining the core elements of the original with director Wright’s rhythmic style, ‘The Running Man’ is set to vividly come to life on screen.

Regarding Glen Powell’s portrayal of Ben Richards, Stephen King praised, “Ben Richards is a very likable character. It’s important for the audience to feel that connection with the protagonist. Powell brings this character to life in a believable way.”
Thanks to Edgar Wright’s rhythmic direction and Glen Powell’s dynamic performance, ‘The Running Man’ promises to deliver action that fully charges your dopamine levels. The film is set to release on the 10th.
