Netflix has confirmed the production of a new series, tentatively titled ‘Beauty in the Beast,’ and announced the casting of Kim Min-ju, Lomon, and Moon Sang-min.

‘Beauty in the Beast’ is a fantasy youth romance depicting the story of Min-su, who harbors the secret of transforming into a wolf, as she meets her university senior Hae-jun and the wolf boy Do-ha.

The series portrays various campus escapades as Min-su enters college. Since childhood, Min-su’s education focused on successful socialization, as she suppressed her emotions and actions to avoid transforming into a wolf. Upon entering college, she encounters a new world.

Director Jin Hyuk, known for works like ‘The Legend of the Blue Sea,’ ‘Sisyphus: The Myth,’ and ‘The Tale of Nokdu,’ will direct the series. Writer Jin Han-sae, acclaimed for the Netflix series ‘Extracurricular’ and ‘Glitch,’ will craft the script.

Viewers are eager to see what new themes writer Jin Han-sae will bring, following the captivating storytelling that has garnered him global acclaim. Studio 329, responsible for popular works like ‘Extracurricular’ and the drama ‘Crime Puzzle,’ will produce the series, adding to its credibility.

The series’ refreshing casting lineup is also noteworthy. Kim Min-ju, known for showcasing her wide range of charms in films like ‘Silent Witness’ and dramas like ‘Undercover High School’ and ‘Connection,’ will play Ha Min-su, a girl with the secret of transforming into a wolf. Despite her longing for a normal life filled with desires and curiosities, she constantly suppresses herself due to her abilities.

Moon Sang-min, who has been steadily building his filmography with dramas like ‘Cinderella at 2 AM,’ ‘Wedding Impossible,’ and ‘Under the Queen’s Umbrella,’ will portray college senior Hae-jun. With a stern face and sharp eyes, he might appear intimidating at first, but his gentle demeanor has earned him the nickname ‘big lovable dog.’ He typically lacks interest in others, but Min-su’s peculiar behavior in his presence piques his interest.

Lomon, who has made a strong impression with projects like the Netflix series ‘All of Us Are Dead,’ the drama ‘Family Matters,’ and ‘Branding In Seongsu,’ will take on the role of the free-spirited wolf boy Do-ha. Unlike Min-su, who represses her emotions, he finds her irritating yet oddly compelling.

Netflix will release ‘Beauty in the Beast,’ which boasts a cast of individuality and acting prowess.
