Who Will Captivate Jisoo in ‘Monthly Boyfriend’? Seo Kang-joon, Ong Seong-wu, Jay Park, and More Join Virtual Romance Drama

‘Monthly Boyfriend’ stars Jisoo and Seo In-guk in a unique romantic comedy. Set to be released on March 6, the show centers on Mirae (played by Jisoo), a webtoon PD who subscribes to and experiences virtual dating to escape her tiring daily life. ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ is both the title of the series and the fictional dating subscription service within the story. The relatable setting of an office worker’s life combined with the unique concept of ‘virtual dating subscription’ offers viewers an exciting experience.

The meeting of Jisoo, who is challenging herself with her first romantic comedy role, and Seo In-guk, known as a ‘chemistry master,’ has generated significant interest. Jisoo plays Mirae, a bright and lovable character, while Seo In-guk plays Kyungnam, a colleague who shakes up Mirae’s daily routine. The show will focus on the changing dynamics between Mirae and Kyungnam.

The newly released ensemble poster captures the exciting chemistry between the two webtoon PDs in their everyday life. After experiencing thrilling dates through the ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ virtual dating subscription, Mirae becomes enchanted by a sweet world, while Kyungnam observes her with an intriguing gaze. This raises curiosity about the evolution of their relationship and who will genuinely captivate Mirae’s heart.

Director Kim Jeong-sik commented, “I think the reality scenes featuring Mirae and Kyungnam turned out beautifully. The moments when they start to change themselves are crucial to the storyline, and viewers should greatly enjoy following these subtle and brave transformations.”

In ‘Monthly Boyfriend,’ various ‘virtual lovers’ spark Mirae’s interest. The poster features actors Seo Kang-joon, Lee Soo-hyuk, Ong Seong-wu, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Hyun-wook, Jay Park, and Lee Sang-yi, whose appearances are expected to be a major draw. Director Kim Jeong-sik stated, “I wanted to portray the diverse changes in the ‘Mirae’ character by setting different scenarios and career fields in the virtual world. We suggested roles that best matched the unique charms and strengths of each special guest actor, promising a special enjoyment.”
