Former Girl’s Day member and actress Hyeri has stirred up controversy by confessing about a bizarre treatment she received from an airline.
On the morning of the 31st, Hyeri revealed, “I made a reservation a month and a half ago and even pre-selected my seat, but they downgraded me to economy from first class, claiming there were no first-class seats. The airline demanded me to take another flight if I didn’t like the seat and they refused a refund,” she disclosed the incident of her seat being forcibly changed.
Despite having purchased the seats in advance, both her seats were changed, and she expressed her bewilderment at the refusal of a refund. As the situation drew attention in South Korea, Hyeri took to her post to clarify, “It’s not a domestic airline ㅠㅠ Hope there’s no misunderstanding!” hoping to alleviate misconceptions that some well-known domestic airlines were responsible for the abusive behavior.
Some netizens had speculated that the incident occurred while she was using a domestic airline.
However, earlier, Hyeri had mentioned that she wanted to say more but couldn’t express it properly, indicating that the incident happened with a foreign airline that required English communication.
In addition to the explanation, he also shared the unfair treatment he experienced from the foreign airline in English, providing global fans with additional insight into the situation.
In her English revelation, Hyeri emphasized, just like in the Korean version, that she was forced into a seat downgrade without any additional refund, calling it the “most bewildering incident” she recently encountered.
