It has been eight years since SHINee member Jonghyun passed away.
Jonghyun died on December 18, 2017, at the age of 27.
On the 8th anniversary of his passing, SHINee’s official account posted a photo of Jonghyun with the caption, “We will always love you.”
Fans expressed their deep longing for Jonghyun in the comments, writing messages such as “The brightest presence in my heart,” “Always miss and love you,” and “I miss you so much.”
Dancer and actor Cha Hyun-seung also shared a photo recalling memories with Jonghyun as soon as the anniversary began, showing his own heartfelt tribute.

Jonghyun debuted as SHINee’s main vocalist in 2008 and was beloved for hit songs like “Replay,” “Love Like Oxygen,” and “Ring Ding Dong.” He officially debuted as a solo artist in 2015.
As a talented singer-songwriter, Jonghyun wrote and composed notable tracks such as IU’s “Gloomy Clock” and Lee Hi’s “Breathe.” He also showcased his talents as a radio DJ on MBC Radio’s “Blue Night with Jonghyun.”
However, as the 8th anniversary approached, SHINee member Key became involved in controversy over alleged illegal medical procedures from an individual dubbed the “injection aunt,” leading him to halt his activities. This situation has cast a shadow over SHINee’s future endeavors, adding a layer of regret to the anniversary.
