Choi Sooyoung has an intense meeting with Kim Jae-young.
Ahead of its premiere, Genie TV’s original drama ‘IdolIdol’ has unveiled a pivotal meeting between Maeng Sae-na (played by Choi Sooyoung) and Do Ra-ik (played by Kim Jae-young), a moment set to disrupt her ordinary fangirl life.
‘IdolIdol’ is a mystery courtroom romance centered on star lawyer Maeng Sae-na. Her intense fandom becomes entangled when her favorite idol, Do Ra-ik, is accused of murder. As she works to prove his innocence while concealing her true feelings, the drama promises an engaging mix of humor and excitement.
Amidst the growing anticipation for the premiere, a pivotal moment is captured: Maeng Sae-na’s dream-come-true encounter as a fangirl. Though known as a skilled “devil’s advocate” lawyer, Sae-na transforms into an ardent fan when off-duty. Her favorite idol, the captivating Do Ra-ik, commands attention. When Sae-na unexpectedly appears at a concert, she finds herself in an intriguing situation with Do Ra-ik. Urgency is palpable as Do Ra-ik silences a stunned Sae-na, yet her overwhelmed reaction to seeing her idol up close adds a humorous touch.
Curiosity is piqued when Sae-na encounters Do Ra-ik again in an unexpected place: the lawyer’s consultation room, where he is now a murder suspect. As narrated in an earlier teaser, “I never imagined meeting my dream idol as a murder suspect,” this unusual encounter is highly anticipated.

Choi Sooyoung highlighted “fans’ hearts” as ‘IdolIdol’s’ main draw, adding, “This is a love story made possible by deep fandom. Anyone who has ever been an ardent fan will relate and be drawn in.” She further noted, “From Kim Jae-young’s captivating idol moments to my portrayal of Maeng Sae-na’s professional lawyer persona, and the journey of two hurt individuals healing and growing together, along with the thrill of uncovering the criminal — viewers can look forward to a variety of compelling elements.”
Kim Jae-young described the storyline as having an “irresistible progression,” stating, “Though it’s a love story between a star and a fan, it harbors unexpected events, growth, emotional recovery, and twists. You might start watching casually and quickly find yourself pulled into the next episode.” He also advised, “Follow the immersive storyline and the characters’ complex emotions to experience both mystery and humanism. Enjoy, but be cautious of spoilers.”
Finally, Choi Sooyoung expressed, “After spending a long summer with ‘IdolIdol,’ I eagerly awaited to share it in the cold winter.
