‘Crybabies’: EXO Members Shed Tears Amid Triumphant Comeback at MMA

Group EXO making a comeback

EXO showcased their enduring performance skills at the Melon Music Awards (MMA), heightening anticipation for their full-group comeback.

On the 21st, D.O. posted a photo captioned ‘Crybabies’ on his social media account.

The photo showed Suho and Kai with their heads bowed, shedding tears.

EXO took the stage at the Melon Music Awards 2025 (MMA 2025) held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro-gu, Seoul, on the 20th. Appearing as a complete group for the first time in eight years, they premiered their new song ‘Back It Up’ and delivered a parade of mega-hits including ‘Monster,’ ‘The Eve,’ ‘Love Shot,’ and ‘Growl.’

Despite military hiatuses and the absence of the subunit CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin), EXO performed with six members: D.O., Kai, Suho, Chanyeol, Sehun, and Lay. Their solid skills and dazzling performance at the MMA successfully marked EXO’s return, leaving no empty spots on stage.

Kai and Suho, performing as EXO after such a long time, shed tears, presumably due to the emotional significance of the moment. D.O. playfully dubbed them ‘Crybabies,’ expressing deep affection for their EXO activities.

Expectations for EXO’s comeback are naturally rising. Following the release of teasers featuring the six members, their visual chemistry became a hot topic. Furthermore, the MMA performance offered a glimpse of the grand stages for which EXO is celebrated, further boosting anticipation.

It took a considerable amount of time to gather a complete EXO due to member departures and military hiatuses. Despite previous conflicts with CBX right before the comeback, EXO is now successfully counting down to their return. Anticipation is high for the impact the returned K-pop kings, EXO, will have on the music industry.
