Controversy erupted after it was revealed that a collaboration package of Pepero and Stray Kids sold in Canada omitted the image of member Han. Fans raised concerns after photos of the package distributed in some Canadian stores on December 21 were shared online. The controversial image, taken by a fan, showed that out of the eight Stray Kids members (Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N), only Han’s image was missing from the package design.
Fans questioned why Han was the only one excluded, tagging the brand’s official account to address the issue. Some argued it was difficult to see this as a mere mistake, claiming it was an inappropriate exclusion of a specific member. Until a product recall or definitive action is announced, some called for a boycott.

As the controversy grew, Lotte Wellfood issued an official apology on December 23, acknowledging the oversight. Lotte Wellfood stated, “We confirmed that the image of ‘Han’ was omitted from the Pepero X Stray Kids package design being sold in the Canadian area since December,” posting apologies in both English and Korean.
The company further added, “We sincerely apologized to ‘Han’ immediately upon confirmation,” and “We deeply apologize to the fans who were hurt by this incident.” They also promised to continue to listen to fans’ opinions and would announce further guidance for fans who purchased the product.

However, even after the official apology, fans continue to criticize the lack of specific follow-up actions, such as a product recall, arguing the response has been insufficient.
