According to Xportsnews, BLACKPINK and pop star Bruno Mars are set to make their comebacks simultaneously, sparking anticipation for a showdown on global music charts. This marks BLACKPINK’s highly anticipated full group return.

Their new song is their first release in seven months, following the digital single “Jump” released in July last year, and their first album in four years since “BORN PINK” in September 2022. Despite active solo careers since 2024, many fans, known as BLINKs, have been eager for the group’s full return. This news is sure to delight fans who have been yearning for a complete comeback.

Although rumors of a full group return had been circulating since last year, no date had been set. The release is now officially confirmed for 1 PM on February 27.

The album, titled “DEADLINE,” shares its name with their world tour, which began at the Goyang Sports Complex in July of last year and has been circling the globe. Major album work, including the music video, is already complete. YG Entertainment expressed deep gratitude to fans for their patience, promising a high-quality music experience and asking for continued interest.

Notably, BLACKPINK will be competing against pop star Bruno Mars, who also returns on February 27 with “The Romantic,” his first solo project in nearly a decade and his fourth studio album.

Previously, Bruno Mars and Rosé collaborated on “APT.,” which achieved global sensation immediately after its release in October 2024. It charted on the Billboard “Hot 100” for 45 weeks, setting a new record for the longest-running K-pop entry, and Apple Music named it the most streamed song worldwide in 2025.

A healthy competition is anticipated as both artists make a simultaneous comeback. BLACKPINK continues to set numerous K-pop records as a leading global girl group, while Bruno Mars remains a powerful force on the global charts.

This album follows recent chart-topping collaborations such as ‘APT.’ with Rosé and ‘Die With A Smile’ with Lady Gaga. ‘Die With A Smile’ earned a Grammy Award, quickly surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, and held the top spot on the Billboard Global 200 chart for 18 consecutive weeks.
