As ENHYPEN enters its seventh year in the industry, the group has alluded to discussions regarding future contracts. With their comeback scheduled for January 16 for the mini-album ‘THE SIN : VANISH,’ the group continues to captivate with its distinct vampire concept.
ENHYPEN, comprised of members Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki, is set to return with a concept album featuring a total of 11 tracks. The album includes the title track ‘Knife,’ five other songs, four narrations, and one skit.
The group previously achieved major milestones, becoming triple million sellers with their second full album and double million sellers with their sixth mini-album last year. They graced the stage of America’s largest music festival, Coachella, and received three grand prizes at various music award ceremonies, including the MAMA Awards.
Discussing their evolving vampire concept, member Jay remarked on the diverse purposes music can serve, highlighting the group’s unique identity. He explained, ‘We\’ve always sought to differentiate ourselves, and maintaining the vampire motif has been central to that endeavor.’
Sunghoon added, ‘The vampire concept, while challenging at times, has helped us reach new heights. Once you dive in, its allure is undeniable.’ However, he acknowledged that the group is exploring ways to engage more easily with a broader audience beyond their fandom.
Reflecting on their seven-year journey, Jay noted, ‘It’s significant that we\’ve stayed together as a team this long. It’s a time to take responsibility, proving that we deserve the love and support we’ve received.’
The seventh year is a notable milestone for idols, often coinciding with contract renewals. Regarding this, Jungwon stated, ‘No discussions are underway yet, but we’re committed to ensuring a positive outcome for our fans, ENGENEs.’
