BTS is set to make their comeback at Gwanghwamun.
On the 20th, the Cultural Heritage Committee conditionally approved HYBE’s request to use and film at Gyeongbokgung and Sungnyemun, according to the Cultural Heritage Administration.
The Cultural Heritage Administration stipulated that a subcommittee would be formed to review the detailed impacts on cultural heritage, a condition proposed by HYBE.
BTS will commence filming for their comeback at Gyeongbokgung and Gwanghwamun.
News previously emerged that BTS plans to hold their first full-group comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square.
HYBE applied for permission under the performance title ‘K-Heritage and K-POP Fusion Performance,’ which includes Gyeongbokgung, Gwanghwamun, Gwanghwamun Wolde, and Sungnyemun.
Organizers envision the performance as a free event, with potential dates including March 20, the comeback day itself, and the weekend of March 21 and 22. They plan to select between 15,000 and 20,000 attendees through prior application.
Officials anticipate a decision regarding the square’s use and the concert as early as this week or next.
Meanwhile, BTS will make a full-group comeback with their fifth studio album ‘ARIRANG’ on March 20, marking their return in three years and nine months. Following their album release, they will embark on a large-scale world tour starting in Goyang on April 9.
