Karina, the leader of girl group aespa and a fashion icon, showcased her diverse charms in a photoshoot.
Recently, Karina graced the cover and pages of Esquire’s February edition.
Throughout the interview, Karina maintained a humble attitude. Asked about her perceived boldness, she said, “While I might appear that way, I’m actually the most nervous member on stage. Even now, my hands get cold and clammy before going on stage. However, once the performance begins, I feel fine, and by the end, I’m incredibly excited and smiling.”

During the interview, Karina also discussed changes in her work style as she gains more experience.
Karina explained, “As my experience grows, we have more opportunities to communicate with the company. After the company selects songs, we perform the choreography ourselves to check the overall vibe and then offer our feedback.”
Regarding her recently released solo track “GOOD STUFF,” she shared, “I participated in all aspects, including the lyrics, choreography, stage direction, costumes, and camera angles. While performing, I prefer hip-hop; for slower songs, I enjoy R&B and jazz. I also like singing rock ballads, so my solo track incorporates elements of all these styles, reflecting my desire to explore various genres.”

During the interview, Karina shared her self-perception, stating, “I think of Karina as ‘the awakened Yoo Ji-min.’ My motto is to never forget that even while living as a celebrity, I am Yoo Ji-min, my parents’ daughter.”
Karina’s photoshoot and interview can be found in the February edition of Esquire.
