
Seoul is making thorough preparations for BTS’s comeback performance.
On the 4th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon held a meeting at City Hall to review issues concerning the BTS comeback event, discussing comprehensive plans to ensure citizen safety and welcome global fans.
Mayor Oh remarked, “It seems the entire nation is waiting. The return of the kings is near,” referring to BTS’s upcoming comeback event and noting that the group is preparing for their comeback after fulfilling their national duty and reuniting as a full group.
He added, “This event is very necessary for Seoul and should be welcomed. Furthermore, its staging in Gwanghwamun Square, the heart of Seoul, presents a significant opportunity for the city.”
Mayor Oh also noted, “BTS has been instrumental in helping Seoul achieve its goal of becoming a ‘Fun City’ with 20 million annual tourists, having served as the city’s honorary tourism ambassadors from 2017 until their military enlistment in 2023.” He welcomed the comeback performance at Gwanghwamun.

Additionally, he emphasized the need to carefully manage security, traffic flow, and address potential inconveniences for citizens.
He urged thorough preparations to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for a joyful festival on March 21, during the transition from winter to spring, anticipating many citizens to visit Gwanghwamun Square.
Mayor Oh called for efficient cooperation with the police to minimize traffic and pedestrian inconveniences, and urged department heads to focus on thorough pre-event inspections.
Meanwhile, BTS will release their fifth studio album ‘ARIRANG’ on March 21 and return. As they come back after a break of about 3 years and 9 months, the world is closely watching their moves.
On the day of their comeback, they will hold a performance at Gwanghwamun Square to celebrate the release of their new album. Netflix will broadcast the performance live to viewers in over 190 countries.
