‘Monthly Boyfriend’ has released a special introductory video for its virtual dating subscription service.

The new Netflix series ‘Monthly Boyfriend,’ set to premiere on March 6, is a romantic comedy about webtoon PD Mirae (played by Jisoo), who is tired of her real life and subscribes to a virtual dating simulation to experience romance. ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ is both the series title and the name of the virtual dating subscription service featured in the show, offering dreamy dates in a virtual world. This unique setup of ‘subscribing to romance in a virtual world’ on top of the relatable daily life of an office worker promises to deliver thrilling excitement. A highlight is the collaboration between Jisoo, who imbues the role with her characteristic bright and lovely energy, and Seo In-guk, who showcases a different charm.

Meanwhile, the special promotional video released that day heightens expectations for encountering a dating partner in the virtual world. In the video, Mirae sits in her office with an exhausted and bored expression. As she ponders, the checklist for the ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ dating subscription service begins to appear next to her. A variety of romantic voices read the checklist aloud, captivating the audience. The dating manager’s recommendation, “If any apply, subscribe now,” then appears. Mirae’s face subsequently lights up with a charming smile, as if she has found the answer to her previous lack of excitement.

In ‘Monthly Boyfriend,’ Mirae, who has postponed love and dating for real life, experiences a new thrill. The colorful dating scenes unfolding in the virtual world are the main highlights of ‘Monthly Boyfriend’. Previously released teaser trailers also revealed the silhouettes of the ‘virtual lovers’ Mirae will meet, sparking curiosity. Viewers are eager to find out what dreamlike dates await Mirae and who the exciting dating partner will be.

Jisoo, who plays Mirae, said about the ‘virtual dating subscription service’ theme, “With the rapid advancement of the times, it didn’t feel as unrealistic as expected. I thought it might actually happen someday, and I was curious about what Mirae could gain from this subscription service.” She added about the dating scenes in ‘Monthly Boyfriend’, “I wanted to portray a rapidly changing look to suit the virtual reality, so I planned different styling for each theme. I paid particular attention to Mirae’s appearance to create a distinct contrast with her reality.”

The thrilling romantic comedy ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ premieres on Netflix on March 6.
