K-pop sensation BTS has addressed rumors circulating about the length of their upcoming comeback show in Gwanghwamun.
On February 28, BTS’s agency HYBE clarified that “misinformation is circulating online about the Gwanghwamun Square concert duration, and we wish to correct it. HYBE and Big Hit Music determined the concert’s length.”
Online rumors had suggested that Seoul City’s administrative regulations led to a reduction in the concert’s runtime.
HYBE further explained, “Seoul City never restricted the Gwanghwamun Square concert to one hour. We made the decision comprehensively, considering the unique nature of an outdoor public venue, spectator safety, crowd control, public transportation convenience, and potential late-night noise.”
BTS will release their 5th studio album, ‘ARIRANG,’ on March 20 at 1 PM KST.
The following day, March 21, ‘BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG’ will take place for approximately one hour starting at 8 PM KST in the Gwanghwamun Square area.
HYBE previously announced that seating would include both standing and designated sections. According to site safety guidelines, the agency might restrict access to some areas outside the viewing zones. They also noted that stage design and safety structures could obstruct views from designated seats, but large LED screens on-site would allow for clear viewing.
Additionally, authorities will manage traffic around Gwanghwamun Square to ensure the event’s smooth progression and safety. Depending on congestion, subway trains might bypass nearby stations without stopping.
All offline tickets for BTS’s Gwanghwamun concert sold out immediately upon release. Netflix will live-stream the concert worldwide.
