Actor Wi Ha-joon is generating palpable tension with Park Min-young in ‘Seiren.’
In the premiere of tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Seiren’ on the 2nd, Wi Ha-joon captivated viewers from his first appearance as Cha Woo-seok, known as the ‘Cha Grim Reaper’ for his tenacious investigative style.
He made a strong impression in a barbershop scene, harshly punishing an insurance fraudster. This introduced a character defined by sharp judgment, fearless action, and a warm humanity, evident in his efforts to protect children from a ruthless mother.
As the story progressed, the complex relationship between Woo-seok and Han Seol-ah (played by Park Min-young) began to unfold, showcasing their compelling acting synergy and visual chemistry.
Their dreamy first meeting, set against a backdrop of spectacular media art, conveyed a sense of both excitement and mystery.
Despite a complete lack of dialogue, Wi Ha-joon conveyed a delicate tremor of emotions through subtle expressions and breaths, with curiosity and excitement subtly intersecting in his quivering eyes.
Though brief, the sight of the two gazing at each other heightened anticipation for their developing relationship. In contrast to their first meeting, which was filled with lingering excitement, their subsequent confrontation at the gallery created intense tension.

Wi Ha-joon also portrayed a character who harbored pain for his deceased sister, Woo-hee (played by Jang Se-rim), behind his cold investigator exterior. While cold at crime scenes, his wavering gaze toward child victims revealed Cha Woo-seok’s underlying human struggles.
The episode concluded with the revelation that Kim Yoon-ji (played by Lee Elijah) was on the rooftop when Seol-ah fell, sparking curiosity for the next installment.
