G-Dragon has drawn fans’ attention by liking a post about former BIGBANG member T.O.P’s comeback.
Recently, a fashion news SNS revealed a teaser image for T.O.P’s new song.
The account explained, “T.O.P uploaded an image on SNS, which appears to be a scene from his new music video. Wearing a suit and drinking a cocktail with a determined expression, the teaser raises expectations for T.O.P’s upcoming full-length album ‘Another Dimension.'”
G-Dragon’s ‘like’ on this post drew attention.
Upon learning that G-Dragon liked the post related to T.O.P, comments flooded in, saying, “Is it okay to get excited?”, “Love seeing their friendship,” “Kwon Ji-yong (G-Dragon’s real name) is a famous fan of Choi Seung-hyun (T.O.P’s real name),” “G-Dragon’s like? My heart races,” and “I miss their duo shots.”
While G-Dragon is known for frequently liking posts on SNS, his like on a post about former member T.O.P’s comeback holds special significance. The two have worked closely as the unit ‘GD&TOP.’
Earlier in January, T.O.P announced his comeback via personal SNS, stating, “A NEW ALBUM IS ON THE WAY.” It marks his first solo release since ‘DOOM DADA’ in 2013, nearly 13 years ago.
The new music video reportedly features former After School member and actress Nana, drawing further attention.
T.O.P was previously convicted in 2016 for smoking marijuana, receiving a 10-month prison sentence suspended for two years. He hinted at retirement from the entertainment industry after leaving BIGBANG but made a comeback via Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ Season 2, released in December 2024.
This year, BIGBANG celebrates its 20th anniversary, but it appears they will commemorate it individually. G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung have announced plans to resume activities for the milestone. Yang Hyun-suk from YG Entertainment stated, “We have agreed with the BIGBANG members to hold a performance.”
