YG Entertainment is poised for a dynamic year, with active projects from its key artists and the launch of a new group, fueling anticipation among global music fans.
On March 4, YG Entertainment posted ‘2026 YG PLAN | YG ANNOUNCEMENT’ on its official blog. The post includes an interview with chief producer Yang Hyun-suk, outlining the artist activity plans for the year and revealing the roadmap for new groups currently in preparation for debut.
Through captions, YG stated, “We are preparing for a new boy group aimed for a fall 2026 debut.” Last year, chief producer Yang Hyun-suk acknowledged a male trainee team was being considered for debut, stating, “We have been continuously exploring and analyzing these trainees. I want to launch one team next year.” YG is expected to introduce a new boy group, its first in six years since TREASURE.

The outline of a new four-member girl group, tentatively named Next Monster, has also become clearer. Following the showcase of skills by members Ively and Chanya last year through performance and vocal videos, the agency hinted at revealing the other two members.
In the video, YG announced BIGBANG’s 20th-anniversary debut tour and the comebacks of Baby Monster and TREASURE. With new group debut projects also underway, the synergy these acts will bring to the K-pop market this year is highly anticipated.
Additionally, Yang Hyun-suk has been working since last year to improve internal systems, aiming to reduce album preparation periods and continuously discover new IPs. With all preparations complete, 2026 is set to be the starting point for these changes. YG stated, “We will refine the outcomes we’ve prepared thus far to bring joyful news throughout the year,” adding, “Please look forward to the artists who will lead the new generation.”
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment has confirmed BIGBANG’s 20th-anniversary debut tour this year. The group will embark on the tour as part of the YG Family, backed by strong trust within the agency. Yang Hyun-suk commented, “All YG staff will do their best to create a perfect and excellent performance.”
