BTS’s fifth full-length album ‘Arirang’ is set for release in just one day.
On March 19th, at midnight KST, BTS released an additional music video teaser for their upcoming title track ‘SWIM’ via their official social media and YouTube channel.
The first teaser, released on March 18th, captivated viewers with a woman looking at a model ship in a museum. In contrast, the latest teaser fully showcases the seven members of BTS.
The video begins with the bow of a white sailing ship cutting through the sea, as the track ‘SWIM’ plays in the background. Standing in line on the majestic ship, the members gaze straight ahead without wavering. The cinematic and grandiose direction, coupled with the members’ intense presence, heightens anticipation for the full release.
World-renowned filmmaker Tanu Muino directed the music video. Muino has previously collaborated with global pop stars such as Post Malone, Doja Cat, and Dua Lipa, as well as on Jungkook’s solo song ‘Standing Next to You’. Tanu Muino’s unique mise-en-scène is drawing worldwide attention for its stunning visual artistry.
The title track ‘SWIM’ is an upbeat alternative pop song that conveys a message of unwavering progress amidst life’s challenges. The song expresses the resolve to calmly navigate life’s surging currents at one’s own pace, portraying this as a ‘love for life’. RM contributed to the lyrics, adding depth to the track, while Chairman Bang Si-hyuk oversaw the album’s overall production to ensure high quality.
BTS will release their new album on March 20th at 1 PM KST and will appear on NBC’s popular program ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on March 25th and 26th (local time). On March 18th, ‘The Tonight Show’ surprised fans by releasing a teaser video on its official social media, announcing BTS’s appearance.
In the video, Jimmy Fallon excitedly exclaimed, “BTS RETURNS ON MARCH 25TH.” This marks the septet’s first full-group appearance on the program in approximately four years and eight months since July 2021. Expectations are high for their new stage performance and dynamic synergy.
Meanwhile, BTS will launch the urban project ‘BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL’ across Seoul from March 20th to April 19th.
