Actress Shin Se-kyung will return to television in a romantic comedy.
Actress Shin Se-kyung is confirmed to star as the female lead in the new romantic comedy drama ‘Love Virus,’ Xportsnews reported on the 27th.
Shin Se-kyung gained widespread popularity through the sitcom ‘High Kick Through the Roof.’ She has since established her position with significant roles in dramas including ‘Deep Rooted Tree,’ ‘Six Flying Dragons,’ ‘The Bride of Habaek,’ and ‘Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun.’
This marks her return to the romance genre six years after the JTBC drama ‘Run On,’ which concluded in 2021. It is also her first drama role in over two years since tvN’s ‘Captivating the King,’ drawing considerable attention.
Last February, she made a powerful transformation in the film ‘Humint,’ directed by Ryu Seung-wan, playing Chae Sun-hwa, an employee at a North Korean restaurant in Vladivostok. After successfully returning to the big screen after approximately 12 years, anticipation is high for her performance in this romantic comedy.

The drama is directed by Kim Seok-yoon, known for his delicate direction in works such as ‘Old Miss Diary,’ ‘Awl,’ ‘Dazzling,’ ‘Law School,’ ‘Behind Your Touch,’ and ‘My Liberation Notes.’
Last year, he further solidified his reputation by directing ‘More Beautiful Than Heaven,’ starring Kim Hye-ja and Son Seok-gu. The collaboration between director Kim Seok-yoon and Shin Se-kyung is already generating significant interest.
