The group ILLIT is returning with a new record that expresses their bold and honest charm.
According to Belif Lab, a HYBE label, pre-orders for ILLIT’s fourth mini-album ‘MAMIHLAPINATAPAI,’ scheduled for release on April 30, will begin at 11 a.m. today.
‘MAMIHLAPINATAPAI’ is a word from the South American Yaghan people’s language, describing the moment of tacit understanding when both parties want something but neither initiates. The album’s tracks weave various emotions that deepen as relationships grow.
The title track, ‘It’s Me,’ captures ILLIT’s confident energy. The song boldly declares, ‘I’m your favorite,’ at that fleeting moment of defining a relationship after a first date.
The infinite expansion of the ‘ILLIT Core’ is expected. From their debut song ‘Magnetic’ to ‘Cherish (My Love),’ ‘Lucky Girl Syndrome,’ and ‘NOT CUTE ANYMORE,’ ILLIT has intrigued the public with a fresh concept for each release. Their unique and lovable sensibility has solidified the ‘ILLIT Core’ concept.
With this new release, the five members plan to showcase another new musical world, broadening the ‘ILLIT Core.’ Belif Lab stated that ‘focusing on one’s inner self and enjoying even complex emotions is ILLIT’s honest attitude, which is a key point of the album.’ They added, ‘Fans can look forward to seeing different sides of the five members: Yoona, Minju, Moca, Wonhee, and Iroha.’
Meanwhile, ILLIT is currently on their first tour, ‘ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START♥︎’. They are scheduled to perform in Aichi on June 13-14, Osaka on June 20-21, Fukuoka on June 29-30, Hyogo on July 18-19, and Tokyo on July 23 and 25-26, concluding in Hong Kong on August 22.
