Meanwhile, MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ’21st Century Duke’s Wife’ is set to air its first episode on the 10th. Set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy in Korea, the drama portrays a romance between a wealthy commoner woman who reluctantly navigates her status, and a prince who possesses nothing and seeks to change his fate.
IU plays Seong Hee-joo, who, despite having everything, faces limitations due to her status as a commoner from a humble background. Her counterpart, Byeon Woo-seok, transforms into Ian, a prince who has lived in hiding, unable to claim anything.
In the drama, the two characters choose a contract marriage to change their given fates and navigate their partnership as a couple.
