BIGBANG’s G-Dragon (GD, Kwon Ji-yong) showcased his signature playful banter with his peer Hwang Kwang-hee.

On May 1, the Solomon Code YouTube channel uploaded the first episode of ’30 minutes,’ titled ‘1 Hour Before BIGBANG’s Coachella Show! G-Dragon’s Backstage Interview!!’ G-Dragon appeared as a guest on the episode.

In the video, Hwang Kwang-hee went to meet G-Dragon ahead of his Coachella performance. After a 12-hour flight followed by a drive in LA, Hwang Kwang-hee arrived backstage at Coachella and warmly greeted G-Dragon.

Hwang Kwang-hee expressed his gratitude, saying, “Didn’t I ask you to join the program in a text? And you agreed immediately.” G-Dragon playfully replied, “You asked me just once, so I did it once.”

When Hwang Kwang-hee asked what song he thought people should anticipate most from BIGBANG, as they performed as a complete group, G-Dragon cheekily responded, “Keep it to yourself,” and mentioned Hwangtaeji’s “Wow.”

“Wow” was a track Hwangtaeji (a team comprising Hwang Kwang-hee, GD, and Taeyang) released during MBC’s ‘Infinite Challenge Song Festival’ in 2015. The song topped the music charts.

Hwang Kwang-hee jokingly said, “Don’t lie, I’m not ready,” to which G-Dragon replied, “We’re doing it without you. The original version.”

Hwang Kwang-hee then asked, “How does it feel to be performing with the members again after a long time?” G-Dragon joked, “Go find your own members,” adding, “We meet often. Our members are like that, doing their own thing. We always hype up the atmosphere before going on stage.”

Meanwhile, BIGBANG successfully returned as sub-headliners at last month’s ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.’ They plan to embark on a 20th-anniversary world tour starting in August.
