Actor Im Si-wan has debuted as a solo singer 15 years after his initial debut, showcasing his soft and romantic vocal style.
Im Si-wan’s first solo album, “The Reason,” along with the music video for the title track, was released at 6 PM on the 5th.
After his contract with his previous agency ended in August, Im Si-wan announced his collaboration with The Black Label last month. However, he will be launching his solo music career as the first artist under SM Entertainment’s music label, SMArt, rather than a formal agency.
Through SM, Im Si-wan has realized his dream of a solo debut with his first mini-album, “The Reason,” which features a total of five songs, including the title track. The album comprises various tracks that reflect Im Si-wan’s musical tastes, such as “Dear My Love,” “Two Of Us,” “Where I Need To Be,” and “Pieces.”

The title track, “The Reason,” is a medium-tempo pop song with dynamic instrumentals, evoking scenes from a romantic film.
The lyrics convey an exciting message: “You keep saying sweet things / The perfect person I dreamt of,” “You are the reason / I think about you every day / At that moment, I’m always the main character in the world,” and “You are my every reason / The reason I smile / You are already my everything.”
With a warm sensibility and sweet vocals that suit the season, Im Si-wan has maximized his previously unseen charm as a singer. Prior to the album release, he expressed in a Q&A session, “One of the biggest reasons this album exists is the stage, so I tried to envision the stage continuously during the production.” This has heightened curiosity about his solo stage performances.
Meanwhile, according to a recent exclusive report from Xportsnews, Im Si-wan is set to appear in a new tvN drama, “Why Don’t You Know She’s a Woman?” scheduled for next year. Having expanded his scope as a solo artist, he is expected to continue shining in his well-established acting career.
