As BTS is set to be back in full in the next year, leader RM’s comments are causing a stir among fans who are eagerly waiting. On December 6, RM held a live broadcast on the communication platform Weverse. With the dating rumors around Jungkook and aespa’s Winter emerging online recently, RM’s interaction gathered significant attention.
RM seemed to be aware of Jungkook’s dating rumors, stating, “I have ARMYs around me who keep me informed of any significant happenings and send me things. I’m not someone who can explain everything when something happens. I have many shortcomings, but I’d like to share what I can.”
He further explained, “As you know, in this career, I can’t reveal everything that happens behind the scenes. I can no longer represent our team. It’s because I’m an individual. From around 2017 to 2018, I felt like I was leading, but afterward, each member has become an individual, and they have their boundaries and lifestyles, so my talking or coordinating doesn’t apply.”
RM also discussed why BTS members, who will all be discharged within the year, are not making a quick comeback. “Many people ask why 2025 was wasted or why nothing was done. We didn’t want to waste it either. I wanted to be active post-discharge. However, there are things I can’t say, and there are reasons we decided not to promote in the latter half of the year. I do not have the right to speak on those matters.”
He added, “Of course, we have changed, and so have you. It’s cautious to say anything further, but we have to move forward somehow. I’ve pondered countless times whether stopping the team would be better. We continue because of our love for each other and our love and respect for you,” acknowledging thoughts of a possible breakup, drawing attention.
As BTS is preparing for a full comeback in the spring of 2026, RM held the live broadcast to connect closely with fans, but his remarks, including the mention of ‘disbandment’, inadvertently heightened fans’ anxiety.
The agencies have not commented on the rampant dating rumors involving Jungkook and Winter, suggesting an acknowledgement of the rumors. Similarly, Jimin has faced ongoing dating speculation with Song Da-eun, and recent leaked personal videos even led BigHit Music to admit to a past relationship.
For ARMY, who are eagerly waiting for a full group comeback, the repeated dating rumors are growing tiresome. With RM also expressing his frustrations about disbandment, the confusion among fans is escalating.
