Actor Hyun Bin has opened up about the aftermath of his joint award win with wife Son Ye-jin at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.
On the 26th, the YouTube channel ‘Channel Fifteen Nights’ released a video titled ‘Christmas Celebration with Disney Alums | Na Young-seok’s Gathering’.
The video featured actors Hyun Bin, Woo Do-hwan, Seo Eun-soo, and Park Yong-woo, who starred in the recently released Disney+ series ‘Made in Korea.’ The four gathered to exchange gifts for Christmas. Following the gift exchange, the conversation naturally shifted to the recent Blue Dragon Film Awards. Producer Na Young-seok congratulated Hyun Bin on the joint award win with Son Ye-jin, remarking, “Congratulations on the honor of winning awards together with your wife, Son Ye-jin, at the recent Blue Dragon Film Awards.”
When asked if the couple prepared for the ceremony together, Seo Eun-soo, seated beside Hyun Bin, jokingly interjected, “We go to different shops,” disappointing Na Young-seok.
Hyun Bin explained, “The popularity award is decided by public vote, so we were informed the day before and simply attended, and the results were announced there.” When Na Young-seok inquired if they celebrated with a drink that night, Hyun Bin responded, “No, that night we each spent time with our own teams.” Na Young-seok expressed his surprise, commenting, “This is so different from what I imagined for a married couple.”
Hyun Bin further elaborated, “I also had similar imaginations, but after the awards, there are gatherings with those who worked hard on each project, so we ended up spending separate time.”
Na Young-seok then playfully asked, “After winning awards together, do you return home wondering, ‘Still not home? I guess I’ll wash up first and go to bed’?” Hyun Bin laughed in agreement, adding that they both returned to work the very next day.
Meanwhile, Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin starred together in the 2018 film ‘The Negotiation’ and the tvN drama ‘Crash Landing on You’ before becoming a couple and getting married in 2022. They recently made headlines by winning Best Actor and Best Actress respectively at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, marking a rare joint victory for a married couple.
