Hyun Bin’s Ambition vs. Jung Woo-sung’s Obsession: ‘Made in Korea’ Premieres Today

Disney+’s original series ‘Made in Korea’ premieres today, December 24, accompanied by a new duo poster and preview stills from its first two episodes.

Set in South Korea’s turbulent yet progressive 1970s, ‘Made in Korea’ centers on Baek Gitae (Hyun Bin), a man who uses the nation as a business model to ascend to the pinnacle of wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Geonyoung (Jung Woo-sung), who relentlessly pursues him with fierce determination. Their paths collide as they confront colossal events that define the era.

Ahead of its premiere, ‘Made in Korea’ unveiled a duo poster, heightening anticipation among viewers. The poster’s contrasting colors for the two characters visually represent their conflict. Director Woo Min-ho describes Baek Gitae as ‘cold’ and Jang Geonyoung as ‘fiery,’ promising a powerful clash and an intense narrative between these two opposing forces.

Preview stills from episodes 1 and 2 further escalate anticipation, showcasing the intense rivalry between the immensely ambitious businessman Baek Gitae and prosecutor Jang Geonyoung, who is in pursuit of a crime cartel. One still captures Baek Gitae in a plane seat, his composed demeanor sparking intrigue. Another, revealing his eavesdropping prowess, underscores his ruthless tactics.

Conversely, prosecutor Jang Geonyoung, who confronts Baek Gitae directly, is shown in scenes with a completely different tone. His large glasses and rugged coat define his character, enhancing his presence. A captured moment of their confrontation amplifies the tension, signaling the beginning of a fierce clash driven by conflicting desires.

Disney+’s original series ‘Made in Korea’ promises a compelling narrative, complemented by stellar performances from its trusted actors and Woo Min-ho’s exceptional direction. The first two episodes are available today, December 24, exclusively on Disney+. Two additional episodes will be released on December 31, followed by one episode each on January 7 and 14, completing a total of six episodes.
