Fans worldwide, known as ARMY, voluntarily streamed “Run BTS,” leading to its success at the top of global charts.
The song’s message, which encourages perseverance and mutual support, played a significant role in its renewed attention. It embodies BTS’s unique energy and teamwork and vividly showcases the group’s identity. Fans’ anticipation for the new album’s March 20th release and their desire to “run alongside” the seven members fuel this resurgence.
Major overseas media are also expressing great interest in BTS’s comeback. The New York Times recently highlighted in an article on the K-pop industry that “BTS’s rise and dominance have significantly impacted the popularity of K-pop over the past decade. They have perfectly fulfilled their role as K-pop ambassadors with their musical talent, diligence, and relatability.” The newspaper further expressed expectations that “the group’s new album and tour will once again rejuvenate the industry as a whole.”
