tvN’s ‘Naked History’ will expose the lives of the world’s first idols, The Beatles.
The lecture will be given by the late music critic Kim Young-dae. Known for his deep dives into the trends and history of popular music through ‘Naked History’, Kim is set to reveal stories about The Beatles’ worst scandals.
Kim described The Beatles as “the most influential rock musicians of the 20th century” according to Time magazine and “the legendary group with the most number-one hits on the Billboard charts.”
The lecture details the story of their rise from an underground band to the world’s first idol group, and how they became global cultural icons, transcending music.
Kim also plans to unveil the scandal that drove The Beatles to their downfall: a member’s blasphemous remarks, death threats against them, shocking personal lives, internal conflicts, and division leading to their break-up after eight years. He also touches on The Beatles’ many classic songs and their underlying meanings, heightening expectations.
The travel companions for this broadcast are composer and producer Lado, and Peter from the UK. Lado mentioned, “The Beatles serve as a textbook for musicians,” emphasizing their musical influence, while Peter added to the insight by sharing various anecdotes about The Beatles as a pride and symbol of the UK.

Meanwhile, Kim Young-dae passed away suddenly last month at the age of 48. The news was more shocking as he was active on social media until the day before his death. The exact cause of death remains unknown.
