Singer Jay Park explained his decision to produce the boy group LONGSHOT at a recent event in Yeongdeungpo.
LONGSHOT (OHYUL, RYUL, WOOJIN, LOUIS) hosted a showcase on the 13th at Myeonghwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their debut EP, ‘SHOT CALLERS.’
Jay Park, who serves as the group’s producer and creator, attended the event. Observing the LONGSHOT members, he commented, “They are truly amazing right now. These are incredible individuals into whom I’ve poured my heart and soul. I’m happy to connect with these friends who feel like younger brothers to me.”
Park continued, “I’ve never produced an idol group before, so I relied on my instincts. I was confident I could approach it differently but wasn’t sure how. There was no clear standard. As I interacted with various friends over time, the process naturally came together.” He elaborated on the production process.

He further stated, “Rather than forcefully molding something, this group was formed around friends who share my heart and mindset, and with whom I can share my time and emotions.”
LONGSHOT marks the first boy group introduced by Jay Park, the chief producer of MORE VISION. The four-member group—comprising OHYUL, RYUL, WOOJIN, and LOUIS—derives its name from the phrase ‘a decisive move to overturn the odds,’ despite being a rare occurrence.
The title track, ‘Moonwalkin,’ captures youthful emotions that blend dreams and self-assurance, evoking a ‘moonwalk’ within an atmospheric vibe.
