Actor Lee Je-hoon shared his thoughts about the final episode of ‘Taxi Driver 3’.

An interview with actor Lee Je-hoon, star of the recently concluded SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Taxi Driver 3,’ took place on the 19th in Gangnam, Seoul. ‘Taxi Driver 3’ is a private revenge thriller where the mysterious taxi company Rainbow Transportation and driver Kim Do-gi complete revenge on behalf of unjust victims. In the series, Lee Je-hoon played the role of Kim Do-gi.

Meeting with the press that day, Lee Je-hoon expressed his feelings about the show ending, saying, “I watched the drama as a viewer while watching each episode live, and it finally feels like the series has concluded. There’s a huge emptiness from not watching it on Fridays and Saturdays.”

He added, “In fact, before watching the live broadcast, I closely followed the detailed process from editing to post-production. Since we shared opinions on the editing and created the final version, I focused on how to make it more complete,” he described.

In the last episode, Lee portrayed the return of ‘Soldier Do-gi’, a special forces officer, uncovering the dark aspects of the military organization still ongoing today, going beyond just revealing the truth about a subordinate’s death. This episode particularly stood out for satirizing the martial law situation that occurred on December 3, 2024.

Regarding this, Lee Je-hoon said, “I was concerned with how to best portray the character Kim Do-gi,” and added, “It might be difficult to fully articulate the message of the last episode, but the episode discussed the potential dangers in situations where power is unchecked and how crucial citizens’ choices and solidarity are,” he reflected.

Filming concluded last year, but two years prior, a significant event occurred in our country, and it seems the writer integrated their feelings and thoughts into the story.

However, some netizens expressed discontent, leaving malicious comments directed at the cast. Lee Je-hoon responded to the mixed reactions surrounding the episode, stating, “I believe every work allows for different interpretations. There can be majority opinions and minority opinions, but I respect all views.”

He added, “As time passes, the interpretations of these points might change, and audiences might evaluate season 3 differently in the future.”
