With members having forged active careers as solo artists, actors, and entertainers over the past 10 years, global fans are eagerly anticipating the new music and enhanced performances I.O.I will present. There is also significant interest in the synergy their accumulated experiences and unique personalities will bring to the team.
I.O.I was formed in 2016 as a project group through a national vote on Mnet’s ‘Produce 101’ and debuted in the music industry that May. Beginning with their debut song “Dream Girls,” they released a string of hit songs, including “Whatta Man,” “Very Very Very,” and “Downpour,” consistently topping music show charts and major music platforms. This quickly established them as one of the representative girl groups in the music industry.
These achievements led I.O.I to win rookie awards at major ceremonies such as the ‘Mnet Asian Music Awards,’ ‘Golden Disc Awards,’ and ‘Seoul Music Awards,’ solidifying their unique presence. In addition to their music, they made their mark on various entertainment programs, further cementing their status as a ‘national girl group,’ and concluded their official activities with a concert in January 2017.
I.O.I plans to connect with their global fanbase by releasing an album and embarking on an Asian tour, commencing with a concert in Seoul.
