Global sensation BTS is set to release the music video for their track “2.0.”
On April 1, the teaser for the “2.0” music video, from BTS’s fifth studio album ‘Arirang,’ was posted on the official HYBE Labels YouTube channel.
This music video pays homage to Park Chan-wook’s classic film ‘Oldboy.’ Even in the brief teaser, the distinct vibe of ‘Oldboy’ is palpable, raising anticipation for the full release.
The video unfolds against the backdrop of an old hallway and elevator, with the narrow corridor teeming with rough-looking characters. As the elevator doors open on the second floor, members of the group appear, presenting a contrasting aura. Dressed in neat suits, some members are seen holding newspapers, while one conspicuously holds a back scratcher, an unexpected accessory given their attire.

The newspaper features phrases such as “Brand New 2.0 Launch… Total Strategy Overhaul” and “Secret Code 2.0 Discovered,” playfully connecting to the track’s title, “2.0.” The video concludes as the hand holding the newspaper slowly lowers, revealing RM’s face framed by sunglasses. Both RM’s attire and makeup are designed to evoke the spirit of ‘Oldboy.’
“2.0” encapsulates BTS’s current evolution, marking a new chapter through change and growth. The song showcases their relaxed and confident demeanor over impressive hip-hop and trap beats, underscored by the lyrics “You know how we do.” The track recently debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard “Hot 100” chart dated April 4.
BTS is making a significant impact on the U.S. Billboard charts with their fifth studio album, ‘Arirang,’ released on the 20th of last month. Both the new album and its lead single, “SWIM,” have simultaneously topped the Billboard 200 album chart and the Hot 100 singles chart. Remarkably, 13 of the album’s 14 tracks have entered the Hot 100.
