Actor Ahn Bo-hyun will walk the pink carpet at the Cannes International Series Festival with ‘The Divine Bead.’
Ahn Bo-hyun has received an official invitation to the 9th Cannes International Series Festival, known as ‘Canneseries,’ which will be held in Cannes, France, from April 23 to 28. The festival showcases outstanding drama and series content from around the world that possesses both commercial appeal and artistic merit. Ahn Bo-hyun will meet global audiences through the non-competitive ‘Rendez-Vous’ section with the drama ‘The Divine Bead.’
In Cannes, Ahn will engage in a packed official schedule, including walking the pink carpet, attending photo calls, participating in guest visits, and giving interviews to international media. Notably, the official screening will feature the world premiere of the first episode of ‘The Divine Bead,’ drawing global attention to Ahn Bo-hyun’s acting transformation in this action melodrama, which will be unveiled at Canneseries.
JTBC’s new drama ‘The Divine Bead’ is set in 1258, against the backdrop of a 30-year war with Mongolia. It tells the heroic struggles of an escort party searching for the sacred national treasure ‘Gwaneumbuju’ and the princess who attempts to rescue them. Ahn Bo-hyun will play the protagonist ‘Baek-gyeol,’ delivering a powerful performance.
Previously, Ahn Bo-hyun took on his first historical drama role as ‘Yi Hoe,’ the eldest son of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, in the film ‘Noryang: The Sea of Death’ (2023), earning praise for his debut performance. Anticipation is building for his more profound character portrayal and impressive action skills in ‘The Divine Bead.’
