Tony Leung, a star of the film ‘Silent Friend,’ which was officially invited to the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and directed by Ildikó Enyedi, is set to appear on JTBC’s ‘Newsroom’ on the 5th.

‘Silent Friend’ tells the story of characters from three distinct eras—1908, 1972, and 2020—who communicate and connect through a gingko tree.

During the ‘Newsroom’ segment, Tony Leung will greet Korean audiences and discuss his new film, ‘Silent Friend.’

With ‘Silent Friend,’ Tony Leung makes his first venture into European cinema, portraying Tony, a lonely neuroscientist in 2020. He has shown exceptional passion for the project, having prepared for the role for the longest duration of his career.

Tony Leung last visited Korea in 2022 to receive the ‘Asian Film Artist of the Year Award’ at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). This upcoming appearance marks his first meeting with audiences in Seoul in 18 years.
