The film ‘Living with the King’, directed by Jang Hang-jun, has surpassed 16 million viewers.

On the 5th, distribution company Showbox announced that ‘Living with the King’ exceeded 16 million viewers as of this morning, 61 days after its release.

Currently holding the third spot in the all-time box office, ‘Living with the King’ is closely trailing the second-place record of ‘Extreme Job’ (16.26 million viewers).

Released on February 4, ‘Living with the King’ is set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, telling the story of a village chief who chooses exile to revive the village and a young, deposed king exiled from the throne. The film reached 10 million viewers on its 32nd day, becoming the 34th film to achieve this milestone.

Having already secured the top spot in all-time sales, ‘Living with the King’ recorded 150.7 billion KRW as of the 29th of last month. The film’s known production cost of approximately 10.5 billion KRW further highlights its impressive performance.

Although ‘Living with the King’ lost the top box office spot to competitor ‘Project Hail Mary’, halting its consecutive number one streak, it maintains its long-term success in its ninth week of release, generating interest in its future box office milestones.
