Hyoyeon was surprised by plans for Girls’ Generation’s 20th anniversary.
The April 12 broadcast of JTBC’s ‘Take Care of My Refrigerator’ featured Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany and Hyoyeon discussing their future.
MC Kim Sung-joo congratulated them, saying, “There is something to celebrate for Girls’ Generation. Next year marks their 20th anniversary.”
He asked if they had any plans for a full reunion activity for the 20th anniversary, similar to their activities on their 15th anniversary. Hyoyeon praised Tiffany’s leadership, saying, “We need to start planning now. Tiffany is in charge of the planning, and she is meticulous and strategic.”
Despite Hyoyeon’s compliments, Tiffany gave her a perplexed look and remarked, “The plans have already been made,” teasing Hyoyeon for being unaware.
Tiffany added, “I’ll confess here. Hyoyeon doesn’t check our group chat often,” exposing her as the ‘icon of disconnection’ within Girls’ Generation.
Tiffany explained, “To proceed with something, responses have to come within 48 hours. But Hyoyeon hardly reads messages.” Hyoyeon reflected, “When there are too many messages, I tend not to read them. If there are 200 to 300 messages, I just skim the key points, which often leads to misunderstandings.”
